This year marks the 10 year anniversary of our friends owning Northern Lights Resort & Outfitting in Kabetogama, MN. We have conducted many photo and video shoots for them through the years and we put this together in celebration of their tenure at the resort!

This past summer Buffalo Media Group headed up to Kabetogama Lake to cover some summer family and fishing activity and to also help tell the story of the rebuilding process after some huge spring flooding. Many of the resorts on the lake suffered extreme flooding and much lost client traffic and revenue toward the beginning of the season. For those who put in diligent efforts to get operational were finding success in their bookings. Although most dock systems were under water, guests were still able to enjoy the lake. We also were there to show that business was as usual on Kab and that it wasn’t too late to book a trip for the summer. Thanks so muck Kabetogama Lakes Resorts for including Buffalo Media Group in your marketing efforts once again!

Freeze | Top Minnesota Resort Video Production

This past week Buffalo Media Group headed up to Lake Mille Lacs to cover video production and photography for Lake Mille Lacs Tourism. We had excellent weather with some amazing ice crystals on the trees in the mornings. We covered a lot of ground making the lap around the lake a few times to cover all the small towns and resort communities that surround this enormous inland lake. This fall Buffalo Media Group concluded our seasonal series of videos for the Crosslake Chamber of Commerce. We will most likely look to continue producing videos such as this. We are always looking for that next story or event to cover to help showcase the wonderful area that is Crosslake!

This past week Buffalo Media Group was asked by none other than W.A. Frost to cover some footage of their back patio while the weather was still decent and the fall colors were still going strong. Luckily for us, there was perfect weather and plenty of people out and enjoying the patio. We are so thrilled to be working with some of the finest establishments in Minnesota and abroad!

Soaring | Minnesota Commercial Video Production

Quick little story. A friend of the family Doug Johnson who operated Fly The Swan lost his life when his ultralight crashed north of Emily, MN on August 29th. I had the brief pleasure of meeting and flying with him back in July. So backstory, my Mom had rented Doug's services for a few hour block to have family take turns flying for 20 minutes each. My Mom asked if I would take a picture of everybody at the lake home stretching out a giant American flag across the lawn for when we were to fly over. So naturally, I thought I would shoot some footage as well seeing as this was such a cool experience. I know Doug had a bunch of GoPro footage but figured some good professional stuff would be great for him to have. I also shot some stills and emailed him everything. He was elated and wanted to team up this fall and put together a promo video. I was just thinking about him as I was driving through Nisswa...hours before I received the tragic news that Doug and a passenger were killed as his ultralight crashed just north of Emily, MN. I was going to be reaching out to him very soon to see if he wanted to get some fall colors shots during Crosslake Days. I was really looking forward to working with him. Needless to say, we were all floored by the sudden, tragic news. For the brief time I knew him, he was an extremely generous and thoughtful person who genuinely loved his job and sharing it with others. In the last email I got from him his sign off was ABOVE AND BEYOND!

So my Mom asked if I had any photos I could pass on to her for his memorium. Then I stumbled across all this footage I shot and put together this piece. RIP Douglas Johnson.
